Kinsta Review: The #1 WordPress Host for Affiliates?

12 Mins read

Are you serious about your niche site, corporate blog, e-commerce store, or online business? Does the idea of using a CMS besides WordPress make you shudder? Then Kinsta may be the ideal web host for you! It only works with WordPress, which means it’s optimized for your WordPress website.

Kinsta is the fastest WordPress web host that will keep your WordPress website secure and backed up all the time. If you’re dreaming of fast loading times, fewer website management tasks, and less downtime, then Kinsta is a good way to go.

In our Kinsta review, we’ll show you all the amazing features you can get access to if you decide to choose Kinsta as your host!

What Is Kinsta?

Let’s start our Kinsta review with a basic overview of the platform and its most attractive features.

Kinsta is a relatively new player in the web hosting space, as it was founded in 2013. The company is so sure in their product, so they call themselves the best WordPress hosting platform in the world. So, if you know that your websites will be built in WordPress, Kinsta is undoubtedly the right choice for you.

kinsta review

Kinsta has an excellent reputation, and what makes it incredibly attractive to users is the platform’s “managed WordPress hosting + ease of use” combo. Since the platform is WordPress only, you know they’re serious about their services.

If you decide to invest in Kinsta, you’ll be getting managed WordPress hosting. This means that everything regarding managing a WordPress website will be taken care of. In addition, your site will be hosted in an environment that’s optimized for WordPress websites. Never again will you have to deal with tasks such as securing, caching, and backing up your WordPress website. This will save you a lot of time but also reduce the chances of something going wrong if you’re not that familiar with WordPress.

Another reason to go with Kinsta is speed. It relies on some powerful features like a content delivery network (CDN) and optimised servers. There’s no question that Kinsta is built for large e-commerce sites and online businesses that require lightning-fast site speed.

Last but not least, since Kinsta offers only hosting for WordPress websites, all of the company’s support staff is highly experienced at helping WordPress users and are also experts at solving problems related to this platform. Some of the support staff are even contributors to the WordPress software.

Kinsta does have one minor flaw: pricing. The starting price is $30 and can go as high as $1,500. However, unlike many other web hosting services, Kinsta does have a lot more to offer, which is certainly reflected by the price.

PROS:

  • Top-notch site speed and performance (virtually the best in the business).
  • Uptime is also excellent at near 100%, with a promise that you’ll get some money back if it ever drops below 99.9%.
  • Easy to use, with great customer support.
  • Includes automatic site backups and other extra features.

CONS:

  • Starting at $30 per month, it’s far from cheap, so you should make sure you really need the performance you’re paying for.
  • It’s not the most budget-friendly option when it comes to limits, so if you use too much storage, bandwidth, or monthly visits, expect to be charged extra for it.
  • It only works with WordPress, which isn’t an issue for die-hard WordPress fans, but it’s worth noting if you want to have a more flexible host.

Are you in need of an outstanding web host provider that will take care of all the work for you? Make sure to try Kinsta out!

Kinsta Review: The Incredibly Powerful Features

There are many features that make Kinsta stand out from its competitors. In this part of our Kinsta review, we will show you some of the incredible features of Kinsta that make us happy to recommend it to our readers.

Google Cloud Platform

By using the Google Cloud Platform, Kinsta can offer 20 server locations for hosting your website.

What makes Kinsta different from the majority of other WordPress hosting providers is the use of the Google Cloud Platform. This means that, if you decide to use Kinsta, your website will be hosted on the infrastructure created and maintained by Google.

As a Google Cloud Platform partner, Kinsta can host websites on a state-of-the-art infrastructure, and users get to choose from 21 global server locations (and more are on the way). The advanced and reliable hardware of the Google Cloud Platform will ensure your website always has access to the resources it needs to deliver a smooth user experience for your visitors. For example, if your website experiences a sudden surge in traffic, automatic scaling will ensure that your website stays up and running.

Automatic Website Backups

Kinsta offers all its users automatic website backups. Each backup is kept for at least 14 days on the entry-level plans and even longer on the more expensive plans. If you ever need to restore a backup, it is quite simple. Kinsta also allows you to deploy the backup directly to your live site or to a test site environment.

WordPress website backups are easily managed through the Kinsta account dashboard.

In addition to daily backups, you can upgrade your plan to include six-hour or hourly backups. However, you will have to pay an extra monthly fee for this upgrade. In addition, you can create website backups manually, with a press of a button. Last but not least, Kinsta offers you the option to download all the backups and keep them safe on your hard disk or even cloud.

Easy to Use

You don’t have to be tech-savvy to start using Kinsta. Registration is simple and fast. As soon as you sign up and pay for the service, your account will be activated, and you can start using it right away.

Some other hosts, such as Liquid Web, have rigid fraud detection systems that sometimes mark their new users as potential fraudsters (without a valid reason), and the users can’t even sign up for the service. With Kinsta, the overall experience is smooth and pleasant.

What users love about Kinsta is the beautifully-designed dashboard. The “My Kinsta” portal is super easy to navigate, and users can perform tasks, such as creating a new WordPress website, updating plugins, and managing backups, with the click of a button.

The dashboard also displays resource usage stats to see how much of your plan allocation you’ve consumed, as well as website visitor analytics.

Very Fast WordPress Installation

When you sign up for Kinsta, you can log in and create your WordPress website immediately. The process is very straightforward, and in just a few clicks, you’ll have a brand new WordPress installation set up and ready to go.

Also, if you plan to host multiple sites with Kinsta through one account, you can manage all your sites from the same dashboard.

Kinsta Is Equipped to Deal with High Traffic

We already briefly mentioned in our Kinsta review that the service is capable of handling high traffic. Kinsta auto-scales your CPU and RAM instead of arbitrarily limiting it. This means that your website can handle any sort of traffic increase or a sudden visitor barrage and still run as smooth as ever.

This is one of the features that truly justifies Kinsta’s price. Other hosts could crash or send you an email saying that you need to switch to a more expensive plan for your website to be able to handle more traffic. It is estimated that Kinsta provides ten times the amount of RAM compared to its competitors.

For some, this feature might not seem very important. But the truth is, website stability and speed is the difference between a WooCommerce website that handles dozens of simultaneous visitors and makes lots of money and a website that crashes and makes a few measly sales a month, with close to no returning customers.

Kinsta Has Its Own CDN

A CDN is short for Content Delivery Network, a system that takes cached copies of websites and delivers them to even more data centers so that users can take advantage of more than one server location at a time.

Many website hosts allow their users to integrate their websites with a third-party CDN, such as the free version of Cloudflare. Now, this is quite a limited offer unless you are willing to pay extra money for Cloudflare’s better plans.

Kinsta, on the other hand, has its own super-fast CDN, which is included in the price you’re paying.

Customer Support

Kinsta offers a quite good customer support. They even have a pre-sales “chat box” that pops up and offers you help in case something is not clear. In case you use this chatbox, your questions will be sent as an email, and an agent will contact you shortly after.

Once you sign up for Kinsta, you will have 24/7 access to live chat and phone support. According to numerous customer reviews, the waiting time is very short for live chat (less than 1 minute).

Kinsta’s live chat is somewhat unique as it is a combination of a ticket system and live chat. All your previous interactions and conversations are saved. This allows users to continue working on an existing issue even with multiple agents, without having to re-explain everything to a new agent.

As we already mentioned in our Kinsta review, the service offers hosting only for WordPress sites. How is this relevant for customer support? Well, all of the staff is very experienced in using WordPress and will undoubtedly be able to resolve any issue you encounter.

Here is an example of a live chat with Kinsta customer support. As you can see, all replies are very courteous and knowledgeable. And, as customers report, the agent will guide you step-by-step through the process until you resolve the issue.

Are you interested in trying out a web hosting service with amazing features and customer support? Kinsta is the right choice for you!

Kinsta Pricing

As we briefly mentioned, Kinsta is quite an expensive service. In general, shared hosting services cost about $3-10 a month. But Kinsta’s starting price is $30. However, with this money, you won’t be getting a basic web hosting service, as you could see from the features we already discussed.

It is definitely worth mentioning in this Kinsta review that payments can only be made with credit cards. Also, the company doesn’t have a fraud detection system that could make your life miserable. It would have been nice to have other payment options, such as PayPal, but, for some reason, Kinsta accepts only credit cards.

Once you choose your plan, you get to decide whether you want to pay monthly or yearly. If you choose the latter, you will get a small discount.

If you were hoping to purchase a domain through Kinsta, we have to disappoint you. They don’t offer any domains – for free or for purchase. This cements Kinsta as a service that doesn’t look to make money off reselling extras to you. You are paying for one of the best web hosting services, and the domain is up to you.

There are no hidden upsells, no hidden fees, and a 30-day money-back guarantee is available with all plans.

If these prices seem like something you are okay with, make sure to give Kinsta a try!

Kinsta Alternatives

Kinsta is excellent, but it may not be the ideal choice for everyone. Here are some Kinsta alternatives if you’re not sure Kinsta is what you’re looking for.

Bluehost

best wordpress hosting

Bluehost is one of the most affordable WordPress hosting providers. This company is a great pick for small businesses or website owners who don’t expect a massive amount of traffic and who are on a limited budget.

Bluehost is a solid offering with good performance, and it actually comes with WordPress pre-installed by default. One downside of using Bluehost is that their support isn’t the greatest, and you may have to resolve some issues on your own. But, still, Bluehost costs only $3.95, so we can forgive them for the lack of adequate support.

DreamHost

DreamHost is one of the not very-well-known hosting providers. However, the services they offer are actually quite good. DreamHost is another great WordPress hosting provider with an affordable shared plan starting at $3.95 per month. It also edges out most of the competition when it comes to uptime and speed.

The user experience is quite nice, and there isn’t a ton of aggressive upsells like you may see with other hosts. It also has an unusually long 97-day money-back guarantee, which is a nice touch (and a lot more generous than the typical 30-day money-back guarantee).

But it’s not all roses with DreamHost. Their servers are located in the US, which means it’s just not a great choice for anyone in Europe or Asia. It also has more limited customer support of live chat available from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM Pacific time, which again isn’t great for anyone who doesn’t live on the west coast in the United States.

However, if you do live in the US (or you’re mostly targeting US audiences), DreamHost offers great pricing, excellent performance, and decent support.

GreenGeeks

If you are environmentally-conscious, you can actually help the planet with your hosting provider. GreenGeeks is the only eco-friendly option out there. Right now, there are data centers all over the world using electricity and contributing pollution – and GreenGeeks set out to change that.

The promise here is that you’ll get hosting from a company that’s committed to renewable energy – specifically, every amp of energy that GreenGeeks uses to power your site is matched 3X through wind power credits. The pricing is similar to other hosts, but in terms of the features you’ll get, you’re paying a premium to invest in a socially responsible web host.

What is also great is that GreenGeeks is a solid hosting provider. It supports WordPress sites, but it is not optimised for WordPress in any special way.

WP Engine

WP Engine is quite comparable to Kinsta, and it is a premium WordPress-only host with plans optimised specifically for everyone’s favorite CMS. Like Kinsta, the plans aren’t cheap, but you’re going to have some great performance from WP Engine. It includes a free CDN with all plans, as well as a Page Performance feature that will test your site and make it easier to optimise it for higher speeds.

The problem is, you’re paying a lot more for it, and it’s not the same 1-click install you might expect from places like Bluehost. You’ll probably know if you’re at the level where you need WP Engine, but just be aware that it’s a better choice for active, profitable sites with owners who have some site-building and site maintenance chops.

SiteGround

SiteGround is one of the best-known WordPress web hosts, with more than 2 million domains hosted worldwide. SiteGround is very simple to use and you will get used to the provider even if you have no knowledge in website management or coding. And a lot of that is due to truly excellent customer service.

The most remarkable feature of SiteGround is exceptional customer support. However, there aren’t many other features that make this host much better than Kinsta. It doesn’t include a free domain name, overall storage starts at just 10GB, and its plans are noticeably more expensive than other shared hosting providers.

Who is Kinsta for?

We believe that it is important to mention this in our Kinsta review: this service is not the perfect choice for everyone. Yes, Kinsta does have excellent features, but it is not the best choice for sites that are just starting out or sites that have a low traffic volume because of its high price and because newbies probably won’t be able to use Kinsta to its greatest potential.

Kinsta is an excellent choice if you run:

  • A site that is on the rise and has a steady growth for a few months already.
  • An established website with consistent traffic, and you simply don’t like surprises such as slow loading speed or website downtime.
  • A direct online business, like an e-commerce store, where good site performance is a must.

Kinsta is also an excellent choice for all those who experience sudden spikes in traffic from time to time as a result of viral promotions or something similar. If you need your website to be stable during those spikes, then Kinsta is the right choice for you.

Does Kinsta sound like something you need? Well, make sure to give it a try!

Kinsta Review: Wrap Up

And with that, you’ve reached the end of our Kinsta review!

By now, you are probably aware that Kinsta is one of the fastest and most reliable WordPress hosting providers with impressive levels of uptime and the ability to handle multiple visitors at the same time. If you decide to sign up for Kinsta, you’ll gain access to some worthwhile features such as automatic website backups, security monitoring, and an easy-to-use staging environment. Also, the support staff are very knowledgeable and responsive via the 24/7 live chat service.

The only downside of Kinsta for some would be the pricing. When compared to some entry-level shared hosting providers, Kinsta is a much more expensive option. However, it is also a massive step up from low-cost web hosting for those who need it.

So, if you’re looking for a faster and more reliable host for your WordPress website, or if you want to launch your new site on managed WordPress hosting, Kinsta comes highly recommended!

Does Kinsta seem like a service you really need, but you’re afraid to make a switch? Well, there’s nothing to worry about. You can always sign up for the service and migrate your site to the staging environment. If you realize after a few days that Kinsta is not the right choice for you, then simply ask for a refund. Kinsta has a 30-day money-back guarantee!
