Pain, swelling, stiffness, and/or weakness that gets in the way of training or sports activity is another sign that your injury is getting worse. If you are feeling pain, swelling, stiffness, or weakness that is getting in the way of your training or sports activity, it is important to check with your doctor.
Pain or other symptoms that do not go away even with treatments such as rest, ice, or use of pain medicines is another sign that your injury is getting worse. Finally, if you are feeling any of the following symptoms, it is important to check with your doctor to make sure your injury is not getting worse: increased pain, swelling, stiffness, or weakness; decreased range of motion; and/or numbness or tingling.
