In his new (already the best-selling!) Book Eat Better, Feel Better, Jada De Laurentiis shares her recipes and tips for wellness and healing.

The book, Jada explains, is the culmination of a personal 10-year journey – a journey that many of you will relate to. She talks about how to push ourselves to the limit – working long hours, saving money on sleep, not always choosing the best food (hello sugar!) And overwork in general – can make us feel too exhausted to enjoy the fact that we do. Rubbed.

More importantly, it reveals ways to restore your health and how food plays an important role in this healing. Throughout the book, Jiada explains this medical truth: Digestive disorders (gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux) are not “normal” and can be reflected throughout the body, causing fatigue, aches and pains, skin problems and excessive overeating. – either an insufficiently active immune system, and, ultimately, a serious illness.

It’s wise to limit your intake of animal proteins (excluding eggs) to no more than one meal per day, Jud says. Better yet (for you and the planet) would be to eliminate them entirely a few days a week. Jiada believed sugar was “a legal addiction, but the less you eat, the less you want it.” But, she admits, “life is too short to live without sweets.” She cooked recipes for treats in Eat Better, Feel Better no refined sugar so they are less inflammatory and easier to digest, and she has added nutritious ingredients where possible, such as chocolate quinoa cookies and dairy-free coconut rice pudding.

“Alcohol is known to strain the liver and cause inflammation,” says Jada. “Excessive alcohol consumption has also been shown to disrupt sleep, preventing you from getting the deep and long rest you need. I limit my consumption to one or two glasses of wine per week and avoid sugary, fruity drinks or wines with additives such as sulfites. “

First, Jada explains, “Dairy products can cause inflammation because they contain sugars in the form of lactose, and if you don’t make the enzymes needed to break down these sugars, this can lead to bloating, gas and associated stomach problems. … “Today she uses dairy products mainly as a flavor enhancer. Ultimately, she says, “listen to your gut and use that feedback to make your choices.” So when you’re doing something that doesn’t make you feel good, those same honed instincts can help you intuitively recover.
